After my most recent weight loss blog I wanted to share a few ways with you which help me to become motivated in the mornings to make sure I reach my daily goals. I am someone who very much lives by the phrase, 'live every day like it's your last', and although that means I don't travel every day or anything extravagant like that I do like to make sure I wake up happy and go to sleep happy so that I can rest easy knowing that I am living my life to my advantage!
1. I always wake up to an alarm, and early. Loads of people never know how I do this but I always like to make sure I get a full day in, even if it means I am not doing much, if I am extremely tired (having gone out the night before) I will lie in a little later but usually waking up later makes me feel more tired than when I went to sleep!
2. Once I am awake (I usually give myself 15 minutes to wake up properly) I jump out of bed and splash my face with cold water and drink a large cup of water. This really helps to me to feel refreshed and ready for the day ahead which wakes me up if I am feeling extra groggy that morning.
3. The best way to really help to get me motivated for the day ahead is to go to the gym, but before I do I always make sure I eat a banana as I feel it kick starts my metabolism and gives me a slow release of energy whilst I am working out. Once at the gym I like to do a combination of cardio and toning exercises to get my body feeling like I am working as many parts of it as I can. I usually spend an hour in the gym as I think that is plenty enough for a day's workout, especially if I have a busy day planned.
4. Once I am back in my flat I hop in the shower and make myself some breakfast which is usually my healthiest meal of the day. I cringe when people say they don't eat breakfast. I can not stress how important it is for your body and mind. I normally have a piece of wholemeal toast with a boiled egg (egg and Marmite soldiers) with a cup of orange juice or green tea with peppermint depending on how I am feeling. I never eat cereal or on-the-go breakfast bars as they are packed with sugar and I feel that they do not keep me going until my next full meal.
These four points to my morning, give me the boost I need to face the day ahead and get my brain into gear.
What are your morning routines? Could you recommend any other tips from your motivational routine that you would like to share?
Bye for now! :) x
